Georgina set off to Climb Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world at 29,029 ft (8848 m) on April 2011. On May 13th she reached the Balcony of Everest at 27,500 ft (8400m), and was forced to make the decision to turn around after collapsing and falling ill due to hypoxia. Everest will see her again in 2013 as she goes for her second attempt!!

She spent the months of April and May 2011 perched high in Nepal to make her attempt! Joining her were fellow Climb Take Action Supporters: Kathy Setian (Climber), Hector Miranda (Trekker), Steve Prentice (Trekker), and Melanie O'Toole (Trekker) also raising support and awareness for the cause. A HUGE thank you to these wonderful supporters for their moral support and dedication to helping women in Congo.

We were there in 2011 and we are going back in 2013!! Learn More!
