Eight Minutes from Dokument Films on Vimeo.
In 2009 actress Sienna Miller traveled with International Medical Corps to The Democratic Republic of Congo to tell the story of gender based violence and its direct connection to conflict minerals.
DR Congo is roughly the size of Western Europe. It is rich in raw materials such as tin, tantalum and tungsten.
Armed groups fight for control of these resources used in all electronic devices such as laptops, mp3 players and televisions.
The purchase of the three t's by Western countries continues to fuel the bloodshed.
Utilized as a weapon of war, rape in Eastern Congo is described as the worst in the world.
